1.would it make sense to use the the pre of the 6700 in combination with the 452?

2. or would you prefer biamping?
Oliver.......Use the MA6700 as a preamplifier.

Nothing to add; just letting Oliver know that others agree.

Default End of the 452 Run But New for me

After playing around with multiple systems, I finally realized I really liked the McIntosh sound best. Sold my old equipment and purchased a new MC452. Going with the MC452 vs waiting a few weeks for the new MC462 allowed me enough cash left over to by the AudioDesk Pro I've been wanting for some time now.

First impressions were a bit dull, but everyday it kept opening up and after a couple weeks of playing it about 8 hours a day it sounds awesome. Not sure how much better the 462 will be or not, but I'm a very satisfied owner.

btw: is it awkward to repeat a question? it`s not a stupid/silly one in my opinion.

regards from germany,

oliver

Sorry we all missed this one!

I'm sure there are others here who can give more detailed answers. The most basic answer is: the more components crammed into a single chassis, the more effect that one component can have on another.

I also recommend the McIntosh manuals which will provide some solid numbers that should also illustrate some differences in performance.

It’s also nice being able to compare different components in the system, whether it is a new Dac, amplification, phono etc. Yes you can do this with an integrated, but I feel (and have been there) you get much better results with separates.
And besides sound quality its fun to keep waiting (saving up) for the next item in the chain and hearing a new sound all over again.

Does anyone use Kimber Kable Palladian PK10 with McIntosh MC452? Which one you prefer and why? Gold, rhodium or silver connectors?
