I'm having one shipped shortly, hopefully arriving in the next two weeks. I've already got the Shunyata Typhon v2/Triton combo, so this should be interesting.

Hello, curious if you were able to try this Niagara 7000 in your system and how you like it compared to your Shunyata Triton/Typhon combo.

Thanks,

It appears that the Niagara 7000 also corrects DC offset.

Nope. Heard two too many negatives from people I trust, so I asked the dealer to hold onto it for now. Still gathering info at this point.

Personally, I'm curious how someone could write an accurate review of these components when knowing which ones they are listening to. Put Mr. Fremer in a room with the system of his choosing and throw him a mix of power conditioners integrated and not. Only then can you get a true review of what he is "hearing" and not what he is "thinking he is hearing". He even gave an expansive description of the differences when the system was just plugged into the the wall but I would be curious if he could pick out these "jet black backgrounds", " better resolution micro dynamics" and "over sharp transients" when he didn't know if the conditioner was in-line or not. For me to drop $7k I'd like a reviewer to do a proper review. Not by any means am I saying this isn't a phenomenal piece of equipment but how can we know with such a review? Maybe "Popular Science" should be doing audio component reviews instead.

How many people could have listened in-depth to such an expensive unit? I would take that with a pinch of salt.

Well, one was the dealer who was going to sell it to me. He knows my system very well, and has convinced me he cares about my sound quality as much as I do; further, he's proven to me over time that he's only interested in selling me items he believes will upgrade that sound quality, even if that means he doesn't sell me some stuff I might be interested in and on which he could generate a healthy profit.

He was going to send me the unit based on the recommendation of a good friend who happens to be a well known reviewer (and who reviewed the unit very favorably), but then balked when he put the unit in his own system and was not satisfied that it would be an upgrade. His opinion was confirmed by another good friend who also happens to be a reviewer for a well known audiophile magazine.
