Hi there everyone! I recently had my stuff moved out of storage from another province to the province I moved to three years ago, it's so nice to have my stereo back. I've got a quick question about my power conditioner. At my old place the power coming in was pretty stable at 120V, every once in a while the RCL-1040 would boost the voltage when the incoming voltage sagged a bit. Now in my new place, the power coming in is around 126V. There are three settings for the voltage regulator; wide, normal, and narrow. When I set it to "narrow" it trims the voltage down to 116V, when it's set to "normal" it leaves it at 126V. So my main question here is what is better for my gear? 126V or 116V? BWLover.......My suggestion is to set your RCL-1040 to the 116 volt output. Your audio equipment will work perfectly well at 116 volts. Nearly all electronic gear is designed to operate at 110 VAC to 120 VAC. Anywhere in that range is satisfactory. An over voltage of 126 volts and perhaps higher if any voltage spikes come down the wire, stresses the internal parts beyond their specific perimeters.

I have a similar situation at my home. My electrical service is fed to my home from a dedicated utility transformer. No other home is fed from the transformer. My incoming voltage is 126 volts. In my living room system I use two PS Audio Power Plant Premier AC regenerators that regulate the output at a steady 120 volts. In my studio system I use a PurePower 2000 AC regenerator to regulate the output voltage at a steady 120 volts.
