Serge.......The Porsche Cayman has caught my attention. Daily driver, decent fuel mileage, sporty to drive, good looks, and I like the Dark Blue Metallic. I'll probably get into Jacksonville soon for a test drive.
How quiet is the interior? Under acceleration does the engine noise get objectionable in the interior? I always liked the throaty growl of the Jaguar's V8 under acceleration but it was never objectionably load.

That thing must have a lot more legroom than the 1st generation Cayman...
I'm 6'3" and my knees would barely clear the steering wheel on the 1st generation Cayman. |

No problems at all. In fact I like my steering wheel way over the knees and much closer to my body. The steering wheel in the Cayman telescopes way out to do just that. Tons of room for a tall guy.

Stop complaining you guys!!
The Boxster is 103k list with ZERO options!!! here in Australia! PASM, PTV, PCCB Burmeister and a bit of leather brings a Cayman S to 200k++ |

Thanks for the review, Serge. I drove a Cayman S, and it was very nice!
Nice to see your son has the Serge non-grin down!

Serge......When I was younger, and yes I can still remember that far back, I loved convertibles. The only time I had the top up on my Austin Healey was when it rained, but that was a long time ago. Now I prefer to roll along in comfort and relative quiet without being baffled by the wind and noise. I like air conditioned comfort and music from a quality sound system while I drive. No doubt, the Boxster is cool, but I find the Cayman more appealing to my nature at this stage in my life.

We get reamed so hard in Australia through the imposition of high taxes it brings tears to my eyes. Not to mention, we have yet to feel the real fallout with the incumbents & will be paying for that bureaucratic mismanagement & incompetence for years to come. |

That said, as a 6'4" man with a single car, that Cayman simply had too small of an interior. If I had a passenger there was no room for anything. I miss my Cayman and would love to have another if someday I have an extra parking spot. Well, with an extra parking spot I'd have a Cayenne, a 3rd spot would be a Cayman |
