Happy hunting!
Kcc, another dilemma, I usually replace my amp and preamp together, if I bought D.D. Momentum now, very likely I would buy their pre amp when they are available. D.D. is too new to talk about re-sell value, so it is an expensive decision without listening.

quanmer,

Congrats on the Momentums! That's a big decision but I am sure you will enjoy them for a long time to come .

I just (re)started the journey myself very recently after upgrading to the Sashas from Avantgarde UNOs and an all tube SET system. It's going to be a while before I figure out and save up to change most of my electronics.

Happy listening and keep us posted!

Ken

I have the Ayre MXR with my Sasha's but today somebody offered me the Krell EVO 900. Would this be an upgrade?

I have your same equipment, and love the combination.
I have only read about the Krell's...they probably woild provide better bass and "oomph", but I suspect you'd sacrifice some detail in the transition. The MXR's have a great reputation...the Krell's so-so. Good luck...let a demo and your ears be your best guide.

If you don't have Ayre KX-R, save $ on Krell and get KX-R first

I already saw this video earlier, and I have to say that it is one slick video! Not sure if I would go so far as to fly over all the way to the Netherlands!

Anyway, Singapore is close enough, plus I'll also get to try out quite a few combos, as the dealer there has Spectral, Ayre, Conrad Johnson, Aesthetix, YBA, Berkeley Audio, Avalon, Vandersteen, Martin Logan, Crystal Cable, Siltech, Kimber Kable, MIT, PurePower, etc.

As far as I know, in Hong Kong and Singapore, it is not often that so many marquee manufacturers come under one distributor/dealer, so this is going to be a treat!. Not sure if I'll try every possible combo though, but we'll see

Philip
