Default DSD from a media server to the DC901?

Last night, I hooked up my Bryston BDP-2 to the DC901. All was well when listening to PCM, but when I tried DSD files, I couldn't get them to play. This was, shall we say, frustrating and not what I expected. I've read/heard something about DSD via hi-link, but the hi-link slot is taken with the connection from the DP900, so there's got to be a better fix.

Please tell me there's something obvious I'm missing. I would love to be perfectly uninformed and wrong on this one.

Thanks.

As a follow up, the connection between the BDP-2 (media server) and the 901 was via USB.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry Weirdcuba, according to specs

DC-901 supports DSD only via HS-Link (from DP-900 SACD's).
USB, BALANCED and COAX support up to 24bit/192kHz;
OPTICAL Support only 24bit/96kHz.

Only DC-37 supports DSD via USB but lacks the DC-901's EXT DSP function.

I would not worry about it, so little really good DSD files.
In my opinion the recording itself is still the most important part.

DC901 can only receive DSD signal from DP900 vis the HS-Link.

According to the webpage at Bryston, the BDP-2 can only play PCM files, there's no mention of DSD, so gather it's "not supported".

If not in use already, would recommend the AES3 connection instead of the USB.

It is supported.
I own the BDP-1 and the firmware is rather awful.
I wish I never bought it.

Regarding DSD, why not convert the files to FLAC using dbPoweramp.
Some people say they sound the same.

I had to go to the trouble of downloading the brochure. On the last page, DSD512 is supported for the BDP-2, hooray.

Why is the BDP-1 not to your liking? What has brought about that concept?

The firmware and controlling software is rather poor. There are 4 USB sockets but only 1 supports a USB drive.. It doesn't support DSD. sound quality is poor compared to the competition. The parts look like cheap industrial parts too. Looks to be done in a hurry and on the cheap
