Thx for the welcome

I upgraded from the MC302 to the MC601's and they are so beautiful, the system sounds like angels singing ... not to mention in the evening the room is lit with the glow of the entire system.

My wife and I sit quietly gazing into the vast depth of this blue glow and listen to what my perfect world sounds like.

Cheers and thx for the congrat's

Patrick

Smile Hello from Sunny Southern California

Hey everyone, Jayson here from Southern California.

I've been in and out of the hobby as an enthusiast since I was 18...I'm now 30 and finally in a position to transform my system into something magical.

Right now this is what I'm running with...
Source/DAC/Preamp: Logitech Transporter
Amps: Bel Canto REF500M
Speakers: Sonus Faber Cremona
Cables: Analysis Plus Black Oval 9 (speaker cables) / Goertz Tourmaline (Interconnect)

I'd like to turn the Transporter into simply that, a Transporter, so plan is to get a separate Preamp & DAC.

I've got Shindo on the brain for the Preamp, probably start with the Aurieges and work my way up if I end up liking it.

For the DAC, this is the hardest of all as there have been so many changes in the last year and so many fantastic sounding announced products it's hard to focus! I've previously owned the Ayre QB-9 and it was just too cold and analytical sounding to me...plus the USB only thing bugged me. I've heard great things about the Burson DA-160 and upcoming Schiit Bifrost...These are relatively on the affordable side but with supposedly high performance/cost ratio. I also had my eye on the Bel Canto 3.5vb with VBS but that's almost 3x the Burson and 10X the Schiit cost. I think this will be the hardest for me to settle on.

Anyway, hope to learn for the board to help steer me int he right direction!

Good Morning, all:
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Greg, and I'm an addict... I have been reading AA for quite a while, but couldn't get up the courage to speak up.

It's hard to admit that you have a problem, especially when you don't think that you do. It's only when family members point out your behaviour that you realize that you need professional help.

I have had over 700 pieces of equipment over 43 years of playing with tubes, building speakers, designing theaters and generally having a blast...

My latest descent into insanity?

Audio Research Ref 250s were ordered earlier this week...

I need therapy...

Greg

ps: I posted this earlier in the AR forum, and thought I should repost here...

pps: I am trying to figure out who is who here. Without going through 20,000 postings, can anyone give me a short primer on the main players?

gclpc, welcome aboard!

Not sure what your "main player" criteria is, but it is Ivan's (MasterLu) board.
