Default Pathos and what speakers?

I have been eyballing the Pathos gear and heard that at least with the TT, speakers should not drop below 6ohm.

I am considering the Logos as it is probably at the top of my price point. What speakers are those of you that have pathos gear using?

Any other input on Pathos is appreciated. I just read Brazilnut's take on his Logos and looking forward to more of the same.

Thanks,

brian

Wow, I thought at least 1 person here would have heard a Pathos product. They are hard to demo in the states with limited dealers.

I just got a Pathos Classic One Mark III to drive a pair of Sonus Faber Classic Cremona Auditor Ms.

My wife loves the look of the amplifier - and I'm really enjoying the sound the combinations produces.

Thank you for that.

Can you clarify the SF speakers you are using? Looks like a typo above for model.

Haha - yes. I fixed it.

My observation is that I can listen to this combo to comfortable levels when the volume is 30, all the way up to 65, depending on the recording.

What I'm trying to describe is how hard I have to push the amplifier to get sound out from the speakers.

I'd highly recommend the combo.

Thanks, lordemsworth.

I see your speakers are 4ohm which is probably why. The Classic is reported to work best with speakers staying above 6ohm.

I appreciate the input.

Focal is very common. At SSI in Montreal Pathos with Harbeth 40.1 was a very well regarded combination.

I have had great results with Acoustic Zen & Reference 3A and currently have some Dali's on order to try next.

Thanks Lakesailor. I am hoping to demo some Harbeth speakers next week if I have the time while on vacation. I am also interested in the DeVore Gibbon 3XL which would also be a nice match.

FWIW, I run a Pathos Classic One Mk III with Evolution Acoustics mmMicroOne speakers. It sounds great but could use more punch but the TT has more oomph, so that should be fine.

I think DeVore is a great speaker to pair with Pathos - let us know what you think
