Wow! Great update. Thanks for sharing. Ray is going to be going crazy. I would have paid to see the expression on Mum's face. That's beautiful.

Hi Graham, (Had to edit this up a bit as I was happy to see your comments, and, was trying to do 3 things at once!)

THANKS for the update! I've been anxiously awaiting any feedback. I'm still patiently waiting all I've gotten as an update is "still on track" whatever that means.

speaking of tweaks...did you replace the stock fuses? I've had mixed feelings about this, I did change out the stock fuses on the 3.7s with HFT, but, I really can't swear to it making any significant difference.

Have you stayed with the 1 ohm as the tweeter attenuator?

Joe - was great, just one of those moments, we bliss out on the music and our systems but when the family and friends can get into it it's just everything. Was beautiful to share some time with her just listening and laughing and blissing out.

Have you stayed with the 1 ohm in the tweeter? and I'll be looking at the Shunyata for the midrange jumper.
Ray - feel for you and yes, they are worth the wait.

I swapped out the mid resistor day 1 and not much later put the jumpers on mids and tweeters - the moment I realised there wasn't any hardness showing up. This is going to vary from system to system but if you can get them out there is definitely more transparency available in the ribbons. It's very liberating

When I changed out the fuses on the 3.7s I didn't have a power conditioner and could hear the benefit but certainly not game changing. The stands are much more obvious and beneficial. Also the set-up I had then was running a bit lean and without resistors you can actually hear more change. I am getting a demo of zitron Anaconda speaker cables soon so think the Shunyata jumpers is a really great idea.

I put in hi-fi Supreme's from the start this time. Genuinely can't say what they are contributing atm but will swap them back to the stock when the panels are run in and see then.

With the Shunyata Cobra/Cyclops now in the set-up the noise floor is so low I swear the 20.7s sometimes think they are CLX's.

Who knows, they could burn in some more and not be as sweet but I think that the shade of treble hardness at loud volumes JV mentioned in his review was more likely in the resistor than in the ribbon ... will see.

In the meanwhile

I'd forever just ran with the 1ohm recomended resistor, even spent $$ on a couple duelunds..wired up via maggy pins. And a couple Cardas Jumpers in the mid. One day for the heck of it, I cut a few short pieces of 10gauge copper (bare wire) romex and replaced it all...expecting the worst.... I'm embarrassed to say, as I'd actually forgotten about it until today..... the bare 10 gauge copper is still there and literally sounds better than the duelunds/maggy pins & jumpers! I promised myself today that I'd get some slightly more exotic jumpers for the 20.7s.

Exotic isn't always better.

It may just sound different.

Don't confuse different, because of an expensive item of exotica in the circuit, as being better.

heck I'd run the stock "coat-hanger" jumpers if it'd help delivery of the 20.7s.
