$499 for the stock unit but you can bet an orange cupped earpiece with dark brown leather, matte trim and dark brown leather band with white stitching and the Hermes logo embossed on it version would push $2k.

This is Hermes we're talking about.

$499 sounds reasonable.... similarly priced to my new BW P7...

Interesting as I'm looking for a new pair of headphones for when I'm on the go (right now I'm using the apple in ear). However, it seems that it can only be pre-ordered in the US for the moment.
Will Europe get it eventually ?

Listened to them in NYC at WOM and both me and my wife liked them a lot.

Sound and the look are spot on for us.
Wished for two of them from Santa... I hope he's traveling from Italy!

The same for me.
I will not listen to music at home with Pryma. I will use them with my computer and when I travel.

I have to admit that the belt-buckle attachments for headphone fit adjustment are unique and ingenious. Hey, if the sound is good, then I have no problem with them.

I've seen the Pryma at Selfridges yesterday. The fit and finish are just sublime, in comparison the P7 seemed shoddy. It felt very comfortable on the head and I could see myself use it over long period of time.

Sensitivity was excellent and I had to turn down my iPhone volume whereas the P7 and the Grado were too low for my test.

For the sound, I wasn't blown away which is why I didn't buy it ultimately. It sounded quite different from what I have at home. The store being Selfridges during Christmas, it was very noisy and comparison was not easy between the rest. Pryma is clearly oriented toward the luxury buyer and not the audiophile. They are targeting people who buy on looks alone.

The joke was the vendor telling me the speakers inside were McIntosh...

I'm happy with what I have right now (i.e. the standard white headphones that come with the iPhone everyday and the Bose noise cancelation when traveling) as I'm not really picky for on the go audio.

Pryma arrived.

They are easy to listen to. I compared them today with some Sennheiser headphones and other more well known brands.
Pryma has got a more prominent bas extension and a bit warmer sound all over. Easy to like.
They are very sensetive and the headphone amp was just half the way up compared to some other headphones.
Pryma is probably a very god headphone to use with smartphones and computers. But I thought it worked really well with more serious listening with a god headphone set up as well. I like the dynamics, the beat and the bas and in that area no other headphone exceeded Pryma at least not that I listened to today. Fun factor is very high. As an analyzing headphone you can find better.
