Here is my bdp/bda stacked on a pair of Symposium ulta amps stands with the spike kit. I currently have the bdp sitting right on the platform with feet detached. In the pic the bda is sitting on the platform with no feet.

I pretty much boxed all my cd's for the bdp. Its great partner for the BDA. Those two pieces together give off great listening vibe. The BDA is the beat king for Prat. The BDP shows off how good it is. With the BDA sitting on the bottom (not feet) those platforms bumped up the resolution. It appears that mass loading underneath that dac will give you more resolution. The downside ( and i was really hoping there wasn't going to be a downside)is it lost a bit of rhythm. As it turns out i will take rythym over resolution.
Switching the bdp to the bottom it gave me back my beat vibes and its sounds more tidied up with smoother highs with out feeling held back or slothy in the the rythym. One thing i noticed is that Bryston BDP/BDA sitting on their own with no platform tweaks seems to have a really uncanny sense of resolution and prat. Too much resolution will screw with prat and too much prat can shut down your resolution. IOW they are engineered really well and don't need to tinkered with using racks or isolation to get the most out of them.

Been using BDP-1 for 3 months now...
Very impressed with sound quality!!!! I tried Amarra software with Mac computers as well as J River Media Center with pc and by far the Bryston BDP-1 used with SSD hard drive is best sound quality so far. Dan
