arises.......I think you made a fine choice. I would be happy to own those two ARC components.

Opinions are like belly buttons, everybody has one. We all know our opinion and $6.00 will get us a Big Mac, a large drink, and not much else.

I think those are the pieces that were used for the HRS demo at the Paragon event on Oct 24. The sounded pretty good. (Even better when placed on the HRS platforms)

Hi Ariess

I like the simplicity and elegance of your approach.

I followed a similar path basing my system on the VAC 160i Sigma integrated amp with a DAC8 (the new combo CD9/DAC was not available when I purchased).

As others have already noted, there are many approaches to this wonderful hobby but I have not found myself wanting for more boxes at this point, just more music!

Jim

Very nice combo. What speakers?

By the way, probably a super match with the NOLA KOs or Harbeth 30.1s.

Enjoy!

Yes it's a Steve Blinn rack. The speakers are shown in this pic. As I said, the whole system has to coexist with my family in the living room which means accommodations must be made, speakers need to go with decor and need to live near the boundary, acoustic treatments need to resemble art, wires must be run under the floor so as not to be seen and to get past the fireplace! It's also a modest sized room and I don't listen very loud (75 dB or less). Having said all that, the system sounds great!
