Dan..

Sorry I meant the N100H. This actually comes in 4TB storage for 3000 as well. It looks like the N10 is 8000. Reviewed the brochure (thanks so much for posting) and it looks like the N10 also provides additional noise reduction and DSD conversion, which isn't an issue for me as my DAC (the C52) supports DSD.

Aside from the storage upgrade on the N10, do you feel that the difference in price was justified?

docmd2010.......Absolutely, yes I do. There is much more to the N10 than the storage difference you mentioned. I prefer having the separate linear power supplies for the digital and audio sections. I prefer the sophisticated proprietary SPDIF digital circuits that include Aurender's field programmable gate array phase locked loop system and ultra accurate oven controlled crystal oscillator clock. My interest centers on the coaxial SPDIF output to my DAC, not USB. None of these features are provided with the N100H. I like the 240GB SSD cache versus the 140GB SSD cache on the N100H, and I prefer the 4TB of hard drive storage. The main motherboard is different and provides features unavailable on the N100H. I also prefer the full sized case and twin AMOLED displays. The N10 delivers a superior performance that has been testified to by a number of N100H owners who have upgraded to the Aurender N10. The N10 is an all together different and improved music server when compared to the N100H. Only you can make the decision about value versus price. I am comfortable with respect to the features and performance being worth it.

The good thing is the Aurender N100H sounds very good, uses the same excellent Aurender Conductor app including Tidal integration, provides NAS capability, and comes at a more reasonable price point that makes it very attractive. The N100H output is USB 2.0 only for those interested in that type of DAC connection.

Dan..

Got it. that's a very detailed explanation, and yes I did read through your review in detail. just wanted to get your perspective on the differences between the two. Well, I called my dealer and am going to demo both units for the next week. That way I can A/B the two units side by side. The connection will be Aurender unit--WW platinum USB---C52.

Did you buy special power cables for the aurender unit or did you use the stock cable?

docmd2010........I am using a two meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cable with my Aurender N10 along with a one meter Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 coaxial digital cable and a half meter Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 USB cable.

Your N100H and N10 demo should prove interesting. I will be watching for your comments.

I finally picked up the W20 after a few extra days in Colorado due to weather and got it setup using a Transparent USB. Right out of the box, I was blown away at the sound quality. It is too early to give definitive feedback against the K-01X transport but I didn't feel I was missing anything. Streaming TIDAL is a pleasure. My wife is so happy she doesn't have to wait for me to scroll through hundreds of cds anymore. Just about anything you want is at the touch of a finger and the quality from the K-01X Dac IMO is superb! I'm using the G-01 as a master clock with the W20 & K-01X and feel it adds a level of refinement that to me is totally unexpected from a streaming service.

There is more break-in time needed and I need to make sure I have the optimal settings for the W20, K-01X, and G-01 to make sure I get the most out of the combo but half the fun is experimenting. Any feedback, good or bad, is more than welcome. Stay tuned

Dave.......I am happy for you. The Aurender W20 is an exceptional audio component with state of the art options including the DC power supply and backup power. Let it play on repeat at night with your sound system off. It will speed up the break-in. I am looking forward to your complete review.

Dan,
Good tip! I'm really happy so far and feel it will only get better with break-in. Hopefully nobody expects my review to read as well as yours!

Congratulations SuperDave.
The W20 is a dream streamer for all Aurender owners.
Are you sending 10Mhz signal from the clock to the W20?
