Mahler - Stephan - Butterworth - Weill - Requiem - The Pity Of War
Ian Bostridge Antonio Pappano via Qobuz Very good recital. The booklet is equally touching (war photographs of the American Civil War, WW I, WW II).

Haydn - Piano Sonatas, Vol. 3
Jean-Efflam Bavouzet Qobuz 24/96 If you play different interpreters of the same works, you begin to hear the little nuances each player puts in his efforts. The emotion he evokes in the listener. I find Bavouzet extremely good technically, but I am less touched than with the albums Hamelin recorded, which counts even more for Wallisch. I'll continue to listen to the whole series though (Vol. 1 & 2). I'm open for more suggestions and will surely listen to the Jenõ Jandó versions.

What Classical Music Are You Listening To Tonight?
Holst: The Planets; Strauss: Also Strachila Zarathustra
Boston Symphony Orchestra, William Steinberg conducting DG (2001), reissue of 1970-71 Recordings I haven’t had much listening time in the last few weeks, so I’m digging out some old favorites. This is a great recording and performance. Zarathustra especially is such a glorious piece of music.
