The balanced outs are fixed if that matters.

Actually, the balanced output is variable. Take a look at the “MA9000 Integrated Amplifier Connection Diagram” McIntosh provides on their website. It shows the MA9000 being used as a preamp with an amplifier directly connected to output 2 (the balanced output). The unbalanced output located next to output 1 labeled as “fixed” is the only fixed output.

Thanks--I received some bad information, which cost me a lot of time trying to find a very short RCA male-to-male Y-cable so I could split one pre-amp out! (I planned to get an in-line female-to-female adapter for the woofer and plug the other end of the split male back into the power amp in.) Now I can use an existing XLR cable--no splitting!

Once you get it set up you should post some pictures.

Oh, I will! It's scheduled to be delivered on November 21. I hope the delivery person from Magnolia Audio will help me unbox it and hoist it into my rack!

If you have to muscle it around on your own be sure to wear a back brace. I've lifted mine off my rack onto a dolly (and vice versa) a couple of times by myself and it is incredibly stressful.

I wouldn't dare. I already have some back problems, plus I had hernia surgery a few years ago. If the delivery person can't/won't help, then I'll get a neighbor.

I placed my order for the 9000 Monday at a nice discount. While I was there an open box MCT 450 sitting on the back room shelf. With the discount I got on the 9000 I took home the 450 also . I didn’t think 2K for the 450 was a bad deal. Now I have to wait three weeks for the Ma9000 to arrive. It’s going to be a Musical Xmass:

I did in another thread, but here are two. By the way, it sounds fantastic! Not cold and sterile like some SS are, but it's also very detailed and transparent. The two delivery guys unboxed it and put it the rack for me, so my back still works!

OK, the sideways one of the amp in my rack looks fine on my computer...I don't know why this happens.
