I wish I had the deep pockets for the Hurricane's, but I went with the Thunder's for my system based on my dealer's recommendation.
I am so glad I did.

You should also consider the Tornado. It's 90% of the Hurricane and half the cost. Just put it in places like your power amp where it makes the most difference.

Enjoy...

Per Audioquest the source is where they believe a power cord makes the most difference. I'm sure it could be different for every system, but upgrading my source's power cord had the most impact on my system.

Comparing Audioquest Thunder to Shunyata Sigma and Wireworld Platinum in my system made me sell all of my power cords for Audioquest. To my ears the Thunder is a very good power cord.

Have you compared the dragon to the hurricane? I am thinking of getting it for the Ref6 and CD9. There is also the new firebird that’s between the hurricane and Dragon, but have not heard much about it.

I haven't compared the Hurricane to the Dragon or Firebird. An audiophile friend that I respect has compared the Hurricane to the Dragon in his system. He said, "there is a difference, but some may not find the difference worth the money." I have no plans to change anything in my system, unless I hit the lottery.

Thanks for your reply. It's one if those diminishing return thing but then there is the what if question. I have a several shunyata cords I am planning to sell so I may use the proceed to buy a Dragon and maybe a Firebird.

You're welcome. I hear you, "diminishing returns" are often over ruled by the what if that we can't get out of our minds. Usually, once we actually hear the small difference it's almost impossible not to upgrade.

Bought the Thunder to go between my Niagara power conditioner and the wall. I wanted to deny that there was a difference but my ears heard differently. I'll look to add another one of these to see if it betters my Acoustic Zen power cords soon.

I currently own a Niagara 1000, 1 x Hurricane HC, and 2 x Thunder HC power cords, and 1 x other brand $150 cord. My system is made up of a digital player/streamer, a DAC, and an integrated tube amp. I would like to know your thoughts based on your experience, which power cord I should use for which connection to obtain the best sound quality.

Wall to Niagara 1000
Niagara 1000 to integrated tube amp
Niagara 1000 to digital player
Niagara 1000 to DAC

Thank you much in advance..
