Recommendations for a night in Vienna
Next month my wife and I will have a couple of nights in Vienna en route to conference in Bratislava. I've never been to Vienna, and it's unfortunate we have such a short time there. Does anyone here know the city, and can recommend a good restaurant, and a venue where we can hear some chamber music in the evening in a less-than-formal setting? We will be at the Hotel Bristol and would prefer something in the city we can either walk to or take a cab or public transportation. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The Musikverein and St Stephens Cathedral are pretty close together and there are plenty of restaurants and shops in the area.
The old city in Bratislava especially the area near the US Embassy has many nice places to eat and shop.

Vienna is one of my favorite places.
The Bristol on the Ringstraße is a superb location. Start the day by walking around the Hofburg Palace grounds, have lunch at Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel, a pastry shop near the palace and then walk the old narrow streets to the St. Stephen's Cathedral. After that check out the State Opera. For dinner, I enjoy the formal restaurant at the Imperial Hotel and then walk a few blocks to the Sacher Hotel to have a Sachertorte.
