When most people think of Thailand, I believe they think of fun and sun, enjoying the beaches, nightlife, food, et cetera...all excellent reasons to vacation here.

However, there is another attraction, and I think this one will hit a sweet spot for you. Yesterday, from an unnamed (can you guess who) Thai could/should/must-be-professor-of-audio, I bought four cables and borrowed one to probably purchase when I can afford it.

When you visit, you can see and hear the following cables I own:
1. Two Transparent Audio Balanced MusicLink Ultra Interconnects
2. One MIT Oracle Z-series II Power Cord
3. One Transparent Audio PowerLink MM2 Power Cord, upgraded with Furutech FI-48 Connectors

and borrowing
4. One Shunyata Z-Series Anaconda Power Cord

If I have time, I plan to try many of the possible arrangements of these powercords in my system. What makes this doubly fascinating is that I also have two Furutech audio-grade outlets, a gold one and a rhodium one, and they sound very different. For great sound, I find a combination of the two is required, but what combination? Perhaps, I will do the math one day and see how many possibilities there are, but I'm certain there are many.

Probably, though, I won't get around to doing this so if you are interested, when you visit, we can have some fun listening to different possibilities.

Second full day in Bangkok.

Yesterday was interesting as I visited the grand palace, the Reclining Buddha then took the boat to Wat Arun. After a quick bite, I walked across Chinatown to the train station. After a well deserved shower, we headed to Vertigo, a rooftop overlooking the city, to have a drink and watch the sunset. Dinner was at Nahm which is simply excellent. You do eat very well here.

Bangkok is an interesting city but the humidity is unbelievable. You are full of sweat in a matter of seconds. I must have drank 3 or 4 liters during the day.

Still no idea what the plan is for today but I'm looking forward to it.

Ron, I'm really excited to experience your Bangkok when I'm back next week. I'll contact you before getting here.

Georges, Welcome to Thailand, Welcome to Bangkok, and Welcome to the now very hot and humid Thai Summer.

The Vertigo was the highest place I've ever eaten in the open air. Sounds like a great way to begin a trip here.

When you get a chance, let me know when you'd like to meet and for how long so that I can begin to plan my "escape" from duty at the parents ha ha ha...

Georges, if I remember correctly, we'll meet on Saturday, the 3rd. I'll do a little work at home in the early morning and head downtown to meet you sometime mid-late morning, depending on your our schedules. Your flight is in the early evening (I think) so we can meet until you need to leave to prepare for departure. Of course, if you're pressed for time, a short meet is okay too, but I have planned meeting for a good part of the day, so that is okay as well. Really, whatever is good for your schedule...
