The MCD350 SACD/CD Player delivers a pure playback experience from SACDs and CDs. It features a balanced 2-channel, 32-bit/192kHz DAC. Fixed analog stereo outputs are available in both balanced and unbalanced offerings; a coax and optical output are also available. All analog outputs plus the digital coax outputs are gold plated for superior corrosion resistance. The MCD350 features 2x read speed so that all discs placed in its rigid aluminum die-cast tray are read at higher speeds, allowing their data to be stored in a buffer memory for a better error correction and tracking. A twin laser optical pickup uses a single objective lens with two laser units each employing different wavelengths that are optimized for SACD and CD playback.
Dan.....I noticed that as well. Wonder why they didn't build that into my MCT450.... BTW, hasn't PS Audio been doing this for some time now?

Jon.......McIntosh CD players have been reading the data into memory at twice the normal rate for better error correction going back to at least the MCD500. In addition, the MCD500 upsampled Redbook to 24Bit/192kHz.

MCD301 has twin laser pickup with 24/192 DAC. There is not much more they can do, except increase the price. The computer is where the difference will take place.

jlbrach.......I agree. I have owned the MCD500 and the MCD1100. Both are fine SACD/CD/DAC's.
