Great trailer, looks awesome, I can probably even get my wife to go see it since Ryan Gosling is in it.

Ditto here. My wife was all in awe in LalaLand -- she was there too!

Yeah, that guy has got it going on, I was trying to explain to her tonight about the original Blade Runner and how the new one's trailer just came out etc. I was met with a blank stare until I told her Gosling is gonna be in it and then she tuned in immediately.

Well the reviews are coming in and are they all over the place. One local reviewer says its better than the original. Another I just saw says it fails to deliver on its promise. Too slow.

On a related note, I received a copy of the original Bladerunner in 4K Ultra HD HDR disc. Have not viewed it yet but I am looking forward to it. I have perhaps a dozen movies now in 4K Ultra HD with HDR discs.

Blade Runner 2049
Saw it today here in Denver area. As I said earlier in this thread, the original is my all-time favorite movie (doesn't matter which version). I was really looking forward to seeing it and quite honestly, I was expecting a letdown. I think 2049 was a pretty solid followup. Four stars.

Blade Runner 2049
Saw it today. Villeneuve did an outstanding job.
Many subtle nods to the original but definitely a Villeneuve film. Slow, building layer upon layer, hiding twist within twist. Visually holding its own but as arresting as the first movie. Sadly no soundtrack by Johann Johannsson. The Hans Zimmer soundtrack is adequate but too much Hans Zimmer and it would be my only minor gripe as it sometimes reminds of other Hans Zimmer scored movies, breaking the immersion. Ryan Gosling is amazing, nailing it, especially in the scenes without dialogue. The movie asks you as an audience some profound questions about what it means to be human but does this in a non intrusive fashion. It was a long wait but very much worth it.
