Need advice on a good quality analog to digital video converter
I converted many old family movies on VHS and super 8 video's to DVD several years ago but I would like to make a fresh back up of the old tapes and maybe even improve with color correction the quality if possible. I just ordered the new macbook pro retina with imovie software. I have a functional super VHS player with s video output however my analog to digital hardware is from 6 years ago and was wondering if the video dac's have improved as our audio dacs have. I have tried searching the internet but have not found any good suggestions for 2012.

David.......I took a look at the Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle with Thunderbolt, and read the specifications. This looks like it is exactly what you are searching for, and provides you with the latest connection options, as well as the legacy connections you need. The price is reasonable, too. I don't see how you could go wrong with this device.
