Glenn,
Good call to enjoy the Gemini before adding ground cables to get a feel where the biggest audio bump comes from. Today I added a Denali S and an Altaira component ground to my system and it truly transformed it. By doing both I can’t say which unit added the greatest improvement but I have my opinion.

Upon installation I got an immediate improvement in sound-stage depth and SQ 'clarity'. And, have not connected the ground cables. I'll just listen until after Xmas so can make a better judgement on the grounds. Otherwise, too many changes at once.
Excellent, Glenn. Congrats on your purchase and it's great to hear it's working out so well for you. I think Gemini is an excellent product and with it's dual feature set of functioning as both as a power disributor and an Altaira-type CG ground-plane noise reduction hub, an excellent value proposition. Your observations of the improvements in audio quality are very concordant with my own. I think another attribute that you'll observe as it runs in and settles fully is that dynamic swings will have more immediacy and "lifelike" quality to them. And more dimensionality in the soundstage.

Just wait until you connect the ground cables; it's just going to get even...BETTER.

A good way to simply describe the improvements that making the ground connections will make is your system will become even quieter, more dynamic yet transparent, but also "relaxed", as Hans Beekhuizen says.

Bottom-line: more good stuff to come.

Cheers.

Interested in the Gemini. How does it compare to the previous Delta D6, Triton v1 or v2? Is it in line with a Venom V16 with the added GDC ground connectors?

I do not intend to power my amplifier with it for now. Only my DAC, streamers and TV box.

I can't comment as the Triton & Venom power & ground cables as the Gemini-4 and Delta & Alpha cables are my first Shunyata products. But, I am very pleased with what I'm hearing.

It’s an excellent power distributor for the price, better than the Triton v1 and comparable to the Venom V16. Can’t speak to Triton v2 or Delta D6 as I’ve never heard one.

As a ground-plane noise reduction hub, better than the GP-NR subsystem of a Venom V16, and comparable to the standalone Altaira CG hub.

It’ll be perfect for your DAC, streamers, and TV box. You could also power your preamp, if you have one, with it.

Finally got the part to connect the RS150B to the ground on the Gemini and it has, again, a layer of grunge I did not realize was there has been removed. Bravo, Shunyata.

Yup. Same applies for "grounding" any unused RJ45 port on an Ethernet switch or router, unused USB ports on remote music server computers and/or AES/EBU, BNC, or S/DPIF ports etc on network bridges, streamers, DACs, etc.

Each additional "interface" that can be connected will further reduce ground-plane noise.
