Well.... Yes. I do have my travel headphones and used them last night. However, there are situations when you want something you don't have to wear, especially if you are not traveling solo and if you're staying longer than a night or two. I've not found anything, thus far. I do agree. Those that I've heard are not worth the bother.

No, I have not tried any of them because I do not own or use an iPod or any other small player.

I just did a Google Image search and picked out the few that looked decent, then looked at Quest For Sound site and saw the Arcam unit.

This one? ibamboo speaker

Or this set for more music: Ceramic Speakers designed by Joey Roth - simple, modern full range drivers for desktop or entire room | Joey Roth

I haven't tried neither of them. The last one looks real good imho.

I have heard the Samsung DA-E750 in my local best buy. I think it was around 4 or 600$. It has two tubes, and I believe there was a woofer under the unit. It sounded great IMO but I don't know the source they used. There was it's little brother next to it on display but did not sound as good.

I grabbed this thread started by E because it came the closets in my search to my "need."

I have a PC portable that is running J River and FLAC files, but it has these tiny tinny speakers. (I also have an iPod and iPhone with music...). When traveling there are times when it would be nice to have packed portable speakers so one could have somewhat decent music in your room. Especially when you want to share. So, the question is, is there a solution that can be packed in a suitcase? Other than headphones?
