Default Best color for Alexia's

I recently ordered a pair of Alexia's. I went with Oxford Grey finish, slate grey grills, and black hardware. I used the swatches available at the local audio shop to pick the colors as they didnt have any physical speakers in this finish available. Having said this, I am having a hard time visualizing whether I picked the best color for my actual decor. While I realize color is 100% subjective, I thought it might make sense to get the opinion of others who have more experience with Wilson's finishes. I have a pair of Duets in standard black with black grills, but they are in my office and no one other than me ever goes in there. The room the Alexia's will go in are in a high traffic portion of the house and will definitely be noticed.. I should also mention that I have used the online configurator available at Wilson's website, but my color combination looks to be much more green hued via the website then I remember from the swatches.

Anyways, I took a couple pictures of where they will end up. FYI: I sold my Sonus Faber Amati's for the Alexia's; the Cremona's are pictured as I was screwing around with some stuff, so pay no attention to them.. Feel fre eto share your thoughts! I am really looking froward to listening to the Alexia's full time!!!!

Yeah their visualization app doesn't show the color very accurately.

I have carmon red, which I love, but I sometimes think I should have gone with a gray or titanium. It's beautiful and goes with anything.

Oh, and congrats! You are in for a musical epiphany. But you know that.

What will last longer in your room, the color of the walls or the speakers?

I think it's kind of silly to get some of the crazy colored speakers that Wilson offers. I would also consider resale value for when you get ready to upgrade again because it is almost always something that we do. I would get one of their more neutral colors--grays, medium to deep browns, brownish gray blacks or other low value (darker), low chroma (not saturated) colors.

Thanks Marc! I have always liked my Duets, but have traditionally had a hard time getting the wife to get over the whole "those look like garbage cans" belief for the rest of the Wilson line. I was rather shocked she didnt put up a fight this time around, but believe me..... I am NOT going to ask her why the change.. I dont want to inadvertently "ask" her to change her mind!

I've had dark titanium Wilsons in the past and the color was great. I had white walls at the time and the dark titanium was a nice lively contrast against the white. It seems that your color may be a touch darker and less metallic. Against your wall color, I think it provides an elegant contrast. My personal fave for your room as well. Oh and, by the way, the Alexias are fabulous sounding speakers. Congrats.

My Alexia is macadamia. It is chocolate colour with some silver metallic sand in it.

It looks great and I love it. It should suit your room, as far as I can see.

The Wilson Audio web site does not show the colour correctly. I don't use grill and the legs are changed to stillpoints, so it is only the colour of the body that counts.

Interesting! I believe you may have the color I was debating between when I went with Oxford Gray. The two colors appear to be very similar. I agree Macadamia is indeed a very nice choice!

Thanks for your input!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I think you have the color difference nailed. Getting more and more confident with my choice! I can hardly wait for the speakers to show up! This is going to be a tough 6 weeks.
