They don't publish their bit rate but the consensus seems to be an average of 190. See this article for an interning overview (although I can't vouch for the accuracy).

Now if only Ivan could get Spotify linked to AA so we can share with people who care and save us from Facebook.

Perhaps this is a more recent development? Where did you read about it?

I used iTunes radio over the weekend via my Apple TV into my ARC DAC8. I was very pleased with the sound. Liked the "radio" stations as well.

What interests me, is the perceptual coding or encoding of music. Ties into a great deal of pyscho acoustics. i.e Masking, etc.. Bottom line, it's very interesting since compression has to meet the standards of the masses and now it's getting credibility as it becomes more refined to meet the "Audiophile standard." |

If you are asking about old fashion "radio", ie AM/FM broadcasting, it's analogue, thus NO bits at all!
(Excuse my ignorance- never heard of rdio.) Last edited by MtnHam; 11-04-2013 at 11:53 PM. |

Bitrate - fm radio may not be as good as Pandora in performance. I feel it's purely nostalgic. Sent from my iPhone using A.Aficionado |
