I would need the DynAudio folks to weigh in here, but I believe DynAudio is one of only a handful of companies that builds its own drivers. The C4 II Sigs are very revealing. They are not bright, but more on the neutral side. I think paired with McIntosh gear, which can be a bit warm, dark, veiled IMO, it's a wonderful combination. I heard them paired with a pair of 1.2kws and a C500 preamp and it was an excellent combination. The sound was very well balanced from top to bottom. I felt the bass was terrific. Tight and fast and just the right balance. I'm sure the 1.2kws played a big role here.....but I wouldn't expect anything different from your 601's. One of the best synergies I have heard.

What you need to do (other than audition them or the C2's to give you a flavor) is to decide whether you want a warm, rich sounding speaker like your Elipsa's or a detailed, accurate speaker like the C4's. My best advice is to go have a listen to the C2's (unless you want to venture outside the GTA to find a pair of C4's) and listen for a long time. At least an hour or more. Is your impression at the beginning of the listening session still the same at the end?

Paul - if you haven't already done so, try to seek out a pair of Revel Salon 2's. You might be very very surprised. That's another speaker that works very well with Mc gear (speaking from experience).

The Magico S5 is another speaker to listen to. The Wilson Alexia's too. And, don't forget the Futura's!

FWIW - the C4's, Futuras, Magico S5/Q5, Rhaido's and Alexia's are on my own short list.
