Sony UBP-X1000ES - new 4K Blu-ray
This new unit from Sony looks like it could be a competitor to Oppo. Is this something you will have eventually, MasterLu?

There's a picture on the link, but it isn't very helpful.

I bought two to replace Oppo units and will likely buy two more to replace Oppo units. Not to to be confused with Sony "consumer" players. Very well built and designed with custom installations in mind (think Control 4). They have a three prong IEC power cord availability.
The new Sony unit provides for streaming and (curiously) the new Oppos do not. I don't need audio or video processing in the player so much of the cost of the new Oppos would be wasted for me. |
