Computer Speaker Suggestions
Not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes.
I'm looking for suggestions for active speakers to be used for computer listening and the occasional guitar playing via an audio interface such as a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. I've auditioned a bunch, and settled on a pair of KEF X300A, which I'm happy with the sound of, however, they have an integral activity sensor that shuts them off after 15 seconds of no signal on the RCA input. It takes about 3 seconds for them to come alive again after receiving signal, and this makes them unusable for me. Would welcome any suggestions for great sounding bookshelf size active speakers with RCA inputs, preferably under $1K USD. Thanks. Paul |

I'm always at my desk so I'm curious too. I have a paradigm millenia CT2 setup, and I feel like I get a 10 second delay for mine to come alive, but after several minutes of inactivity.

I had the chance to listen to them @ the LAAS. Interested as they are a small co. based in Federal Way WA, down the 5 from me. The 2 owners were there and quite amiable. The speakers were good enough to consider should I ever go in that direction. The higher priced one (but not by much) was the star with a bit better bass and far greater definition. My opinion a good choice.

They get good reviews.
To my surprise, one of the owners replied to my email inquiry earlier today. My only concern is that they do scan/switch inputs after 15 seconds of no signal. So I may be in the same boat as I am with the KEFs. |
