Thanks! The quality of vinyl that I was spending $40+ per was too hit and miss...and I needed to recoup some money before going to separates.

I've had this set up all of two days and I'm already considering how good a second 275 would sound and look. Oh goodness....

Brent.......Uh oh! Upgraditis already. One good thing is you have the space available on the bottom of that fine looking rack. The PMC EB1i's will love the doubling of power. The MC275 has bench tested at nearly 90 watts. Runing a pair in mono will give you a solid 175 watts per channel of all tube deliciousness (to borrow Alberto's description). I ran a pair of mono MC275 MkV amps on my PMC EB1i's and loved them. This was the living room system a few years ago.

This is a very attractive setup. I like how clean everything looks. And if you can swing it I would highly suggest a 2nd MC275. I run two of them in mono and the difference of going from one to two is nothing less than remarkable.

Bikeman,

I too had a pair of MC 275's that I ran as monoblocks with a C2200 preamp, and the combination was liquid and powerful.

Your system looks great and I'm sure, sounds as good as it looks.

Enjoy your grandfather, I miss mine!

Incredible room, Brent - the story of how it all came together with your grandfathers help is awesome. Your furniture pieces are works of art!

Update! Last week I brought in two new (to me) McIntosh MC501s and last night introduced a set of PMC IB2is. I'm still working on speaker placement, and to be honest, I don't think Paul even broke them in before selling them to me....LOL. I'll report back later in the week with more details on the system and my new friendship with Paul...we have lots of great "Pauls" on AA! For now, I'll say that the reviews on the midrange of these speakers is spot on....dead sexy!
