Howie, congrats!!!

But remember, it sounds pretty thin for the first 2-300 hours, don't panic. Get one of the burn in CD's or the Hagerman device, hook it up to a CD player and let it go for about a week before you do serious listening. Otherwise you will have to play a lot of records before it sounds awesome.

If by some chance after 3-400 hours it still sounds flat, you may have a defective power supply tube. I had that problem with the one I bought after the review sample. (ARC insisted that I have a brand new one) Dropped a new 6550 in and everything jumped right to life!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Off to CES!

Thanks Jeff.

Do you mean the Hagerman Frybaby or is the Frycleaner a better and more useful long term buy??

Thanks

Seems like buying USED would be a better deal for me cause there is really no way I can do a 300-400 hours of burn in.

From the day I get my TT till today, I have yet to hit 60 hours cause I started to get lazy after 2 weeks ... and having the Sooloos doing most of the work. The excellent 808.3 CD player had even less than 30 hours.

Anyway, happy for you. ENJOY !!!!

Are you getting the acrylic or metal top?
Gotta check with the dealer and see what lids he has ordered. I understand that the acrylic tops sound better??

EDIT: It's acrylic

Congrats Howie.

I was going to buy one, until the financial controller put me on credit hold
It still may happen, but still working on that

Please let us know how it sounds after the long break in.

Just ordered a VS 115 amp. It will be replacing my Krell KAV 2250. Should be here late next week. Listened to the ARC amp as well as a McIntosh MC 275. Looking forward to getting it hooked up.

Anyone have a VS 115? If so, thoughts?

Jeff

Magnificent!

But of all your components, the ones that make me drool the most are the two darTZeels. What a "choice" system you have.

Howie, I never saw this thread, so congratulations. Since you don't appear to have posted impressions since it arrived, I'm curious to hear what you think of your Ref 2. I must say that it's on my radar...truthfully, it's about as far off in the distance as you are from me, but it's on there, nonetheless.
