Oh no.. The Stage3 Concept XLR connector that I always use. is too tight for C3850. Cannot insert in.
All comparison I have made was useless now as I have to switch one XLR cable. I have to do it all over again.
Now using Transparent Reference (MM2)

I am looking for new preamp for Mephisto, 909 was here for just some experimental only.
But now I can say that they sound very competitive but with different flavor. I am happy with both of them equally.

At your level of electronics, why don't you try FM Acoustics or CH Precision?

And? Toga was looking for the best sounding pre-amp to go with his Gryphon.

cj pre is slient, has HT out as well as full tape out. Use adaptor if XLR is required - it will still sound superior.

Hi, yep. My goal is to find SS preamp that sound more like tube. has 3 XLR in one of which to be theater-bypass. easy to operate, and yes I should try CH Precision L1 too.

C3850 is quite a performer. But it didn't sound like tube at all. Burmester 032 preout
sounded more like tube. creamy sound. But I will take some time to fine tune C3850
as I like to use it so much.
