I think servo subs work well with Maggies due to their inherent quickness. Velodyne and Rythmik are well worth checking out.

FWIW, the ML BalacedForce subs are bipole, not dipole like planars.

I really liked the JL f112 (single sub) doing the low bass with my then Maggie 3.6's. Set the LF cutoff on the sub around 36Hz, though.

I am using a single JL F113 with my maggies. The JL replaced an older 18" HGS velodyne. I find the integration between the JL and the Maggies to be better than the velodyne. Granted my velodyne is older technology.

Just audition the 3.7i with the JL F112 and was not too impressed. Dealer recommended the 212 which I heard on another set up, this one really impressed me. He recommends 2 of them . My listening area is about 15x15. I think that 2 of the 212 would be an overkill. Any thoughts?

Dual F113's on my custom sub bases is all you need.

I run that same combo in one of my rooms the same size.

FWIW, the DWM's are bass panels, not subwoofer panels (different frequency range).
I found Chris Martens testing of the DWM's interesting. He writes:

When measured in isolation, the DWM’s
bass extends only to about 40Hz, but when coupled with larger
Magnepans an interesting phenomenon occurs; specifically,
the low-frequency outputs of the DWM and of the main speaker
couple with and reinforce one another such that bass response
extends considerably lower than either unit used individually.
Just as importantly, the DWM is perfectly voice-matched to the
larger Magnepans and is likewise a dipole radiator.
I wound up using two DWMs with our 3.7i’s, using beefy
Magnepan-supplied 1400 mH inductors to roll-off unwanted
and unnecessary mid-bass, while taking advantage of the extra
low-bass power and extension the DWMs provided. The results
were well and truly spectacular, yielding very low-frequency
(think mid-20Hz) weight and authority, yet without muddying the
inherently transparent sound of the 3.7i in any way.

For around $1600 for two, if it can get down to the mid 20HZ range and not mudding the 3.7 mid-bass I would say that is a pretty good deal. My JL110's do a very nice job but they also cost a whole lot more.
