Since you only pay by the month, no reason not so sign up - if they shut down overnight on the first of the month you’d only be out 20 bucks.

It would crush Roon if tidal goes away. I know I wouldn’t renew my subscription

Dan.......That is exactly why I think "lifetime" memberships in digital subscription services is a gamble. What is "lifetime" in the digital world, two, three, maybe four years? It's a melting pot where things change almost daily.

Probably. I really enjoy Tidal both with Roon on my main system and via Tidal's app in my phone feeding my two budget systems elsewhere in the house. I hope they're able to raise more cash and get to profitability.

One big advantage that Roon has is its tight integration with Tidal. I would definitely miss that. Of course I would hope that if Tidal were to fail, Roon could associate itself with other music services.

Right. If they integrate with Spotify, I'd still use it even though it's topped out at 320kbps. I'd still find value in the convenience and discovery. I'd just go buy cds or vinyl for my favorite discoveries. That's what I was doing before tidal.
