Where this seems out of balance, a 40lbs speaker vs 100+lbs speaker, might balance out due to physical appearance, physical presence, and the ability to move them!

What I'm saying is, the Dynaudio C1 is a very specific application speaker. I.e. small room, WAF, and easy to move.

Still, there is no replacement for displacement and the floor standing PSB Synchrony One, Paradigm Signature S8, and the Legacy Audio Focus SE are King.

The C1's play very much like a bigger speaker. Add a nice sub or 2 and rock out.

Gordon, since the Spire is no longer in production the 'Montis', it's replacement ($9995 msrp) would be my choice as well.......with one caveat.... the Maggie 1.7's combined with a competent sub can do things at a price point that's damn near impossible to touch........well under 10k !

My current fave bookshelves: Lenehan Audio ML2Reference. Under 10k with a fair bit of change. Beautifully hand finished and tuned.

Built in the Gold Coast, Australia. Not easy to get an audition but just amazingly well built and sounds just as amazing.

All the money goes to the incredibly inert cabinets (steel clad and braced) and crossover components (Dueland capacitors and resistors and hand wound inductors).

Wow!

Very nice setup. You have some serious network storage going on as well.

Can't get the wiring to be neat. Ever

I am a bit paranoid about storage. Wife hasn't forgiven me about losing our holiday photos from the last 10 years. I'm using 2HDD redundancy.

If you had 10K to spend on a pair of speakers, and had to pay retail price, what would you get?

Seems like there are hoards of great speakers over 10K lately, but what is pushing the envelope under 10K?

Aurel Bryan Vivante or Aurel Bryan fieldcoil.
This is a small Indonesian manufacture who made incredible stuff for (in my mind) very low prices.
