I talk to the factory every once in a wile. And have asked if they own
Mcintosh. They Answer was no to expensive

The product may be too expensive for many of them...but I do know that on my last visit to the plant (2007) the receptionist told me she owns a MAC receiver, I think she said a MAC4100...but don't quote me. She'd been with the company something like 30 years...

I spoke with one of their sales guys last year who told me that it was a point of contention among his siblings who would inherit their dad's old system some day. His siblings said he shouldn't qualify since he worked there!

To me, it's strange to think that someone may not have the desire to own what they helped build. If I worked at McIntosh I may as well take factory credits instead of money because I would just spend it on McIntosh gear.

I think the question might have been better phrased, what percentage of McIntosh employees own at least one piece of Mc equipment. Given the demographics of the typical customer, I suspect anything over 20 percent would be pretty good.
It is like asking how many Porsche employees own one of their cars. |
