Limitless power and still with that delicacy
Can't resist to lift the cover. Are those white caps all teflon type? Mine looks a bit different from the ones I saw from the web, with white side panels rather than the black side panels. |

Did some research. The caps with white side panel are polypropylene and polystyrene type. My guess is that mine belongs to earlier batch of 350, with mixed poly-type and Teflon type caps. The more recent batch used all Teflon-type! Like the SE version of the current models. Would really like to hear the SQ difference.

T-Foo... their may not be two models or a difference. Teflon caps are used in the audio signal carrying circuits, not the power supplies. There is no benefit to them in the power supply circuits.

Right Coppy. One model, but with some modifications of the more recent batch. Got the reply from Jeff of CJ that the smaller 1 inch caps are of teflon type, others are polypropylene. I am asking them about the sonic difference with all teflon type, pending reply. Anyway, enjoying my amp very much.

I'm still going to say there was no change in the Amp. Poly is used in the power supply and teflon in the signal circuits. There is no reason ti use expensive teflon in power supplies.

Yor are right Coppy! Jeff said the same thing as you, teflon in audio circuit and polypropylene in power supply. So just different poly caps. Now I can focus on music with peace of mind.

The Pr350 actually uses poly caps in the power supply bypassed by small Teflon caps. Signal pass is all Teflon.
