Well, I'm about to join the club for better or worse. A PPP is on its way to my place. Probably Tuesday delivery. Once here I'll have 30 days to decide on it.

Knowing the accompanying cord will be of inadequate length given my setup, aftermarket cords are a must. But because I bought the thing, entry-level cords are all I can handle right now. Of the PSA Jewel and WW Stratus, which would folks here recommend? I will need at least one and possibly two 3m cords plus another one which could be 1m, depending upon final configuration. Flexibility is the main criterion, and I have roughly $500 to use.

Daniel.......I have four PS Audio Power Plant Premiers. I use two with my main system, one with my two channel tube system, and one with my home theater system. All four have two meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cords on them. I am very pleased with the Silver Electra performance, not to mention its flexibility.

Hi Chris,

It's odd. The December edition of The Absolute Sound has a Transparent advertisement announcing the power cord amnesty program running until Dec31st. I took advantage of this fantastic offer and ordered 6 new Reference Power Link cords and traded in my 2 PS Audio Statememt power cords - since I bought the PS Audio cords 4 years ago at 50% off as they were being phased out at that time. They gave me 70% of the original list price, so 20% more than paid for them 4 yrs ago! Pretty damn sweet. $665 credit towards a pair of new RPLs.

The odd part is my dealer had to twist Transparent's arm to honor the advertisement as they say power cord amnesty doesn't start until Feb 1st. I would imagine because they are tweaking the cords for a new release in Feb - at least the Reference is being 'upgraded'.

I took home 2 RPLs last week to audition in my system. 1st, I replaced the stock cord on the PPP. Then, I switched out the Guerilla Audio power cord on the MCD500. Both times, I was very impressed by the improvement this cord brought to the table. I used Mark Knopfler 'Sailing to Philadelphia' cd to A/B the RPL. StP is an excellent recording and already sounded great prior to putting the RPL on the PPP. I THOUGHT my background was already black. Boy, was I wrong. There truly are many shades of black. My background is truly the blackest of blacks I have yet experienced. The smallest details are rendered much clearer and distinct now. Guitar overtones ring so true it's down right scary. Touch more air around vocals. Multiple small improvements that add up to a rather incredible listening experience. Going back n forth with the A/Bing, I was quite blown away that different power cords can make such difference on a unit that converts the signal to DC then regenerated back to AC. Amazing. Very similair improvement when another cord was placed into the system this time on the MCD500.

I was hoping not to hear any real difference. Out of luck. These cords are superb. These cords have not left my system, I purchased my dealers stock and ordered 4 more to completely power my system with Transparent Reference power cords. Can't wait to hear my c2300 (PHONO!), MC402, and REL subs powered with the RPLs.

Default Maybe a problem

I've just made the attempt to connect my PPP, and I get no power, only a single blue light. I've tried into the wall and through two different conditioners, but no go. The PS Audio logo (the power switch) doesn't do the trick; it doesn't light up, in fact. The unit doesn't respond to the remote. The rear switches are set to "always on." Am I missing something or do I perhaps have a lemon?

I went into the kitchen to pour a couple glasses of orange juice, and when I returned to the living room Beverly was laying on the couch naked with nothing but the headphones on. Turned out to be a memorable afternoon. So memorable in fact, that just seeing those headphones in your signature instantly shot me back 40 years.
I read the rest of this thread. So what happen after you came back? What did she not like the album? Was the tone arm and the cartridge, not a match? :confused-5:

Ken.......I believe Beverly wanting to listen to my sound system was a wily subterfuge.

Well, I have a UPS pickup scheduled on Monday for a DOA Power Plant. More, this isn't an exchange; I'm returning it for credit.

The day after I'd ordered the PPP I had a bit of buyer's remorse, nothing too serious (i.e., no big knot in the stomach), just a slight misgiving. But I had time to think, and when the PPP arrived dead, that (plus a few postings on the PSA forums) helped convince me to return it and stick with what I've got for now. So I'm running my LCR2400 through the Furman Elite 15-PFi I also bought; the Furman replaces my Tripplite HT1210ISOCTR, which is now on computer duty. At some point I may return to replacing the LCR, but not now; I don't need to get back on the upgrade horse just yet. And I realized I simply got caught up in upgrade-itis, what with the PPP being on sale and so many raving about it here and elsewhere.

If I were to replace my LCR, at this point there are only 3 options, given my setup: a Furman SPR-20i (same price as the discounted PPP, though I'd need a 20A-15A adapter for it), or Panamax's M5400-PM or Max-7500 (same price as the non-discounted PPP). All 3 regulate voltage and offer more functions than my LCR, though the SPR lacks the convenience outlet I want. But as a practical matter, I'm only 10 years or so from retiring (God willing), and need to take a careful look at large discretionary purchases like this. So taking the more reasoned approach (not necessarily an audiophile one) for my circumstances, I think I will stand pat for now and enjoy the music; the sound's pretty good as is. So unless something hits me over the head at a good price, waiting is fine with me.
