I am on day 2 with my E-650 after having sold my 590AXII. However, I did also just upgrade my speakers from Sonus Faber Elipsa to Stradivari so an apples to apples comparison is not possible. Both amplifiers produce warm smooth music, but I do believe the damping factor of 800 in the E-650 does make a difference. I also like the balanced pre out that the 590 does not have. But the Luxman has an onboard phono input, whereas it is an option for the E-650. Either one is a winner though. Get the Accuphase cost is not a factor. Get the Luxman if the budget is a factor.

Get the phono option board for the E-650 - it is truly excellent. Also it has a bit more loading flexibility for MC than the Luxman which makes it quite a bit easier to work with for really high-end cartridges. Well worth the extra investment! |

Also make sure to get the DAC board...love that the Accuphase are truly integrated solutions. The DAC boards are almost at DC37 standalone level.

My e650 is incoming with a DAC, but not the phono board. This is for a smaller system that will stream and possibly spin cds, but no turntable. Once I get settled back in the house, I’ll likely run a tuner also (albeit not of the magnitude of my 108T/SE).

If you are looking for value, in my opinion the Luxman wins. It looks and sounds amazing. The built is amazing as well and the lust factor is over the top although it is completely subjective here. I've never heard an Accuphase but my guess is they are more alike than different. The Accuphase is pricier in north america though mostly because of the distributors as the prices in japan are closer. I only heard the Gryphon 120 and the Soulution 330 briefly at an audio show and both sounded fantastic. So did the Luxman... The Accuphase was sitting there, pretty on display only... They are all great products no doubt. |

How does entry Accuphase compare to others?
There's a lot of good info on AA and hope to get some feedback on this topic.
How does the entry level Accuphase (e-270) compare to comparably priced integrated amps from reputable brands like Simaudio, Ayre, Hegel, etc? I had a Luxman 505-ux in the past, but it didn't do it for me. I'm gping to hit 65 in a couple months and am looking to make a final purchase. Speakers are Dynaudio Focus 110 which I really enjoy. Tastes are about 50% rock/jazz, 50% classical (ensemble, vocal, not much symphonic). THanks in advance. |

I think you ought to create a new thread mate rather than high Jack this one.
