I also have the less critical items on my Dectet. Works out nicely. I can't offer a constructive comment on using the UPS (others are more knowledgable than I on that point).

Paul suggested nothing before or after P10 except the powerbase. Since P10 price is so attractive, i have my dealer ordered another unit with powerbase. Ultimately, have 2 p10 each feeding to Cary 805AE individually, hope i can get satisfactory result.

In chatting with Paul via the PS forum, he indicated that many use a UPS in front of the PS10. His only admonition was to just make sure the UPS is the type that passes the incoming AC onto the load intact without regenerating the AC waveform all the time.
