I've heard the 7t's- wonderful speaker that also generates a lot of bass.

As other posters have said, there is no hard and fast rule. Experiment until they sound good to you. Additional acoustic treatment to the room may help as well.

I have a similar room arrangement to yours. My ceilings are 18' vaulted as well and since it is a common family room I don't have the option of moving my speakers much at all. I have spent a lot of time over the last 2 years with the Cremonas tweaking all aspects of my limited range and have pretty good sound all things considered. The bass in not at all boomy in this room (it opens to the kitchen straight back and the foyer on one side). It is well controlled, punchy, and tight. Based on your pictures it looks like your present speakers are not really that tight compared to what I am faced with. It appears you have a decent amount of room to work with. As others have said, every room setup is unique. I really just wanted to let you know I have good results with a tight speaker setup, and I love the sound. It is open, musical, and has decent imaging. I am also a fan of SF aesthetics, which to me is the frosting on cake. Not only does it sound delicious, it looks beautiful

No boom in this odd shaped smallish room.I know this is nothing like your room but it does show how these speakers can work in in not ideal spaces. |

I've found that the SF can work in less than ideal environment but precise setup is required, as for any speaker, to get all that they can deliver.
I've had someone to come to my house to inspect them and I had a much better sound after just a few tweaks in position despite the constraints of the room. The next major improvement was after he removed the banana plugs. This was a game changer. The plugs were removing a lot of the details. After he left, I had a new system without spending any money on gears |

Since I have been thinking of upgrading to the Cremona M's for quite some time, and my room is also on the small side, I am following this thread with great interest. Photos are much appreciated.
Antipop, do you mean to say that you went from banana plugs to bare wire? Or from bananas to spades? Curious to hear more details about this. |

I have spades on the amp side, I'll try to remove them and see if there is a difference. |
