My two regrets are not making it 19 plus inches wide for each side and the shelves on the right and left are not independent of each other. If you want to move the left top shelf up then the right goes up as well.

Nicely done. I like the detail in the wood working.

Thanks Ed. Those details are from a early 1900s arts and crafts style known as Greene and Greene. Do a google search for Greene and Greene furniture and you will see some great examples of the Greene brothers work.

This is something I came up with a few years ago.

The butcher block shelves are 25" long, 19" deep (accommodating cables as others mentioned) and 1.5" thick. The holes were bored to 1-1/32" for 1" rod. In retrospect, 1/16" over would have made for easier assembly. The shelves and milling were made by Baird Brothers in Ohio.
The 1"- 8 thread/in rod, nuts, washers and rubber tips were scorced from McMaster-Carr in New Jersey.
Of particular concern was turntable placement resting flat on the surface away from fastening hardware.
Since assembling this rack there have been changes in the amplifiers. Going from a single MC 352 on the bottom shelf to current configuration.
The laptop shelf is temporary made last week from scrap wood to get it off the floor or T/T dust cover until my garage/wood shop gets above the freezing mark.

Anyone interested in material lists or sketches for ideas, send a PM and I'll zip off some pdfs.
