Another 601 from 452 Upgrade

Well after almost 5 years it was time to replace the first real amplifier I have ever owned, my beloved 452



It has served me faithfully and without complaints, but I was longing for a pair of 601's since I first saw them. We all understand: how can you really have a big boy system without owning a pair of mono blocks.

Got them home last night and faced head-on my first challenge to my upgrade:



Will not bore you with the details but I got both of them up the stairs and into my media room





Like unwrapping Xmas presents, box by box, layer by layer, finally I had the 601's ready for their final resting places





Finally after all that time, the stairs, the unboxing, the placement, etc

Thanks to everyone on this forum whom without their indirect influence and advice, I may never have reached this milestone.

Will report later after 50-100 hr break-in my thoughts on the sound of the upgrade, etc. A tease, they sound amazing right out of the box. My wife was engaged and smiling the whole time.

Man, that's a lot of stairs.....pretty good workout getting those things up there.....congrats on the monos, I bet they'll make those B&Ws sing! As for your wife smiling due to new audio equipment.........she's a keeper!!!!!

Congratulations Edward! The WAF is a huge added bonus!

They look great, just like they were supposed to be there. I may have taken them out of the outer box before going up all those stairs. My back hurts just looking at all of them. I hope you had help or better yet someone else to do the moving.

I thought about that but actually kept the outer box in place because I was afraid that if the box fell down the stairs something (my new 601) would break.
