I do sometimes think that - especially when playing rock music - the 802D2s could have a little more "punch". They are all together a great combo with the McIntosh gear, but sometimes they lack the earthy sound to make rock music come to live when paired with the Mcs. But it is a fantastic "all round" combo. Listened to Cowboy Junkies the other day and thought that it was fantastic in that combination of electronics and speakers...

Isn't it amazing, Paul W. Klipsch had it right 70 years ago. "My theories on audio and audio reproduction will be proven wrong only when the laws of physics change".

True - one of my best experiences was with the big Blumenhofer Horns. Should I ever move away from the 802D2s it'll be to get a pair of Blumenhofers!

Never heard Mcs with Tannoy. Sounds like a good combination though! What I really enjoy about Mc with the 802/800 B&Ws is, that they fit for a wide range of music. Alternative/Punk and rock stuff can be more fun with Horns - Jazz with electrostats, but the big B&Ws work well with all musical directions when paired with Mcs. Sometimes I think it'd be best to have totally different systems for different music...

Hi bruno2009, I have the Wilson Sabrina's paired with Mcintosh gear. I am very happy with
the sound. I auditioned the Sabrina's with Simaudio, Ayre, and Audio research. I felt the first two a little to bright after an hour. They were slightly more revealing and also excellent.
I really liked Arc but different price point and not as complete a line. The Mcintosh I found
I just wanted to keep listening too and play louder. I choose my speakers first and then the electronics. I recently traded in my c47 for a c2600 and now don't feel you give up any definition for tubes. If anything it's better and much, much more engaging. I find I hardly ever turn it off. Best Paul
