I haven't heard one myself but I remember someone on here saying that they preferred the PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premium HP Integrated Amplifier. Its headphone jack is supposed to be excellent and better than the McIntosh MHA100.

Heard both, owned the Mac. Both good, but you can certainly hear tube noise with the PL. The Mac is perfectly silent. It is among the best solid state headphone amps, and made even better by also being a very good integrated.

Default Love my MHA100

I have had one for a week now. Local Dealer was selling floor sample to make room for MHA1500, so I snagged it up. I am crazy happy with it. can't wait to add more McIntosh gear.

It's a great unit I did a review of the mxa70 in this McIntosh section if you want details about it . Get the mxa70 if you want nice near field speakers , it's not that much more

I am using it more for a preamp/headphone amp/DAC. I don't plan to use the amplifier in it.

I had a MX-A70. It was my first jump back into this crazy hobby. If I could have keep it with all the upgrades I have done from there I would have. A very nice unit!
