They look fine when newer, but after a few years...they are a no go and IMHO a design flaw. So, the new stand for the G may not look as good as the previous string based stands, but I bet they will perform a lot better- and for a much longer period of time.
Since when cost has been an issue when you're selling speakers at that price and for audiophiles?

What you mean is that the profitability wasn't high enough and they found a way to improve the bottom line.

The original was made of pure wood not MDF with layers upon layers of lacquer. I don't know if that's still the case here.

I'm sad to see the Strad/Elipsa form factor lost forever.

I really can´t decide what to think about the new series. But it sure isn´t the same company as when Franco ran it.

+1
It is the result of the new Mcintosh Group.
I feel the same with the new ARC and Wadia gear.
It is pure lifestyle marketing.

The video was gawd-awful and the smugness of the actors vomit-inducing. That said, the settings, boat and Alfa were quite nice, and the actresses great eye candy. Terrible ad agency, but they sure must have enjoyed themselves making the video! Real proof of the challenge to get SF's target market (if they know who that really is) to audition the product.

I'll let my ears decide about the speakers themselves.

Here's first review of new Amati Tradition with lot of photos and video. It's on Croatian but Google Translate can help. http://tooloud.co/sonus-faber-amati-tradition/

I too feel SF under the new ownership are not moving in the right direction. They are*losing the Italian spice more and more.

Im confused as to why this series references technology taken from the lower Olympica line.

I do like the deep colour of the wood but agree, too many horizontal lines.
Any reports what speaker they are using?
I wonder what sound they were trying to achieve with this new line and price point.

Has anyone audition or taken delivery of the new Amati Tradition? Very curious on how they sound. In my view, they don't have the beautiful & timeless sculptures of the last iteration, at least from looking at current photos. Perhaps in person, they may be striking...
