The 275 GTB/4 and the 1955 MB Gullwing are my two favorites. I don't buy cars or motorcycles for investment, only to enjoy on the roads while I own them. I certainly enjoy all of the beautiful cars and bikes that are bought for investment purposes by others and shared with the rest of us at shows and photos on line.

Of all the new cars I've bought over the years, only my 2011 GT3 RS was worth more than I paid for it new when I sold it.

I've never lost a penny on the "high end" cars I have owned. Those that I knew would hold value well or appreciate immediately such as the hard to get GT3s/RS and the brand new desirable Ferrari models, I bought new and sold later same or higher price. Those I wasn't sure of, bought used but researched first. I think the only car I took a slight hit on was the Audi R8 V10 with a manual but if I held on to it, it would have been worth more.

Of course I lost money hand over fist on all the other more mundane daily drivers throughout the years either through the leases or depreciation.

Most cars ARE NOT investment as we all know. But some classics truly are as we also know. How much has the 250GTO appreciated over the years? Oh yeah, by 10's of Millions!
