Sonic guild, I would also recommend auditioning the corresponding shunyata preamp->amp interconnects at the same time you are listening to their speaker cable.

Mine is Frey 2, is this a lower series ?

If you like the sound of your setup, no reason I can think of that Shunyata Alphas wouldn’t be a good match.

If you are getting a bright signature using Shunyata cables and interconnects then I would look elsewhere in your system for the source of the brightness. It is unlikely it is coming from the Shunyatas.

I think you should be looking at Sigma or Omega to match your super expensive systems.
the Alpha might not do much justice to your super expensive system.

The Lyngdorf 3400 is an integrated class D amp with streaming DAC and digital room correction. The amp or its settings may well be the source of any brightness you’re hearing, there’s a lot going on in that box. If you’re already using Frey speaker cables, you might try experimenting with your amp settings rather than speaker cables.

Audiophiles are always making choices. Tube vs SS, Tubes Brand A vs B, cartridges, Class A, B, AB, Class D etc, planer vs box, vs horn........ If a cable brand A vs B gets me closer to what I want to hear then assuming the price isn't crazy (hard to define) it might get a place in my system.

Agree with Jim. I believe in sound signatures. Cables have a sound. However I would not recommend having one brand IC and one brand Speaker cable etc. Although some certainly do.

First, the Alpha line is not the top of the Shunyata line. The Sigma is the top. Second, rather than speculate and assuming you are serious, I would send Ivan a PM state your system to him and let him help you. He sells Wireworld which is solid silver both IC and speaker. He sells Shunyata. There is no one on the planet who knows more about matching cables to high end systems than Ivan.

I personally like solid silver. All my cables, pc's, IC's etc. to my main go to gear are Wel Signature which is super thick/expensive solid silver. But Ivan will know what's best for you. Good luck!
