Why would I want to go through all of these hurdles if I already have tidal?

I want to see if the sq is better. By many reports, it is. I will admit though that it won’t appeal to most until it’s more accessible.

Since I'm happy with Tidal and Roon, I'm content to wait until Qobuz is available through Roon and give that a shot to see if there's any improvements to either SQ or selection.

If you want to do the free trial use this link

https://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/

After your account is created then go to your profile and use the gift code CEDIA2018

It will be a UK account but still a free 3 month trial.

a few brief days with it reveals that the median album on Qobuz is materially better (to my ear, on my system) than the median album on Tidal. It's a real step up in SQ to my ear. There's no roon integration, which may be a killer for some, but boy, it sure does sound good compared to tidal.
