9mm seems to be greatest in demand and shortest in supply (probably because Master Lu bought it all up ) My small local gun store had 1000 round cases of Federal 5.56 for $469 which seems reasonable. The defense rounds in most calibers are fairly easy to find in my area but target loads fly out the door as soon as the shipment comes in.

Probably shoot about 40-50% of that each year. Have a dozen flats on the shelf. Nice that M&M buys in large lots and sells for ~$57/flat.

Just ordered another 500 9mm from D&G. Will have around 1000rds on the shelf. Several hundred 30-06 for M-1 competitions. Just finished loading 100rds of 6.5x47L this morning for practice. Will need to load another 66 for the state championship match on 7/6.

Just finished an article about the "ammo shortage" and the only reason it is exists is folks continue to "panic buy" and hoard ammo. The writer stated that he has spoken with several of the ammo makers over the past few weeks and they all state that they are making ammo as fast as they can and are NOT jammed up trying to fill any huge government orders (for you conspiracy theorists). Some of the smaller makers did complain about their lack of raw materials availability (mostly powder) as the big guys with buying power are getting preference. The prediction was 18-24 months before there is any relief. This assumes there is not another 'event', like the Boston bombing, etc., which drives panic buying.
