I believe that Rogue makes an optional metal remote available as an upgrade if desired, same functionality but a more substantial appearance. Congrats on your new RP-7!

Congratulations on your RP-7 I have the RP-5 and have been very happy. I also have the ST 100 power amp. This combo has made my Focal Diablos come alive.
I highly recommend you take a look at their power amps also.

I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks. I considered the RP-5 but wanted balanced connectors since my amp doesn't have single ended ones and I wanted to avoid having to use adapters. From what I understand the two amps share much of the same architecture and design principles.

I certainly will. Rogue seems to strike a middle ground when it comes to balancing between the classic tube sound vs. solid state crispness.

In the last couple days of listening with additional burn-in, special guests named pace and rhythm arrived...

An update of sorts: I swapped a couple of my power cables around to have my WireWorld Platinum Electra PCs on the RP-7 and the AHB-2 amp, which are connected to one of my Niagara 1000 strips which in turn is plugged into the wall with a Transparent Premium PC. Putting one of the higher end cords on the preamp improved the transparency and drive of the system. Performers are highly present and the overall presentation is extremely detailed and vivid. It's bordering on being a smidge aggressive however, though it is more musical than the stock cord.

There are so many variables of tweaking the sound of a system, but the RP-7 lends a distinct improvement to my system regardless of what I use for the power cord. I may try some other power cords to see if I can smooth out the sound a tad, or perhaps it's time to go up market on the power conditioners.

Hmmm, it appears the preamp is still burning in. The WW Platinum Electra PC - RP-7 combo is starting to sound AMAZING together - warmth and sweetness are coming in. The slight harshness is fading away. I'll shut up and post two months from now once I'm absolutely sure the RP-7 has settled in.

Adding the Torus power conditioner to my Rogue Amp and Pre amp was probably the best single upgrade I’ve done. It’s on par with going to tubes in the first place. Highly recommended!

Thanks for your note. Can you describe the improvements you heard?
